For a first time buyer, buy a new or older home, can you do the maintenace?

Loading ....

When you are in the market to buy a home, one tends to look at buying a used home ,if you will. I would suggest to a first-time buyer if at all possible maintenance buy a new home! Why would I jump from a older home to a new home, simply this, A new home will have less repairs than an older home will. Plus the new home will have at least a one year warranty on it too. With this warranty you will have a year to get used to doing all of the maintence that you need to do on a regular basis. Now if you have a new home and you had the money, may be you have ten years to get used to doing the homes maintence work too. This gives you the chance to ask questions from the people who come out to do repairs that are under warranty from the experts, as long as you treat them nicely of course. Now if you are hard core know it all then buy the older home for it will be usually a bit bigger to start with but you will have to do all of those repairs yourself, or you could hire someone to do them for you. For me personally I can do any and all repairs on my home, can you? Gil Gray HD
